How to Travel Unvaccinated
A little guide on approaching travel as an unvaccinated person.
Firstly, don’t think that being vaccinated will give you better opportunities to travel.
Review your government website about the country you are travelling too.
Review the destination country’s website.
Read the damn fine print!
Most countries offer one of the following options:
- Presentation of COVID-19 vaccine certificate
- Presentation of negative PCR test result for COVID-19
- Presentation of COVID-19 rapid antigen test result
- Proof of having been previously-infected with COVID-19
Read carefully, and look for the word “or”.
If you are banned from travelling to a country, look for neighbouring countries that you can enter.
Most countries do not require a passenger locator form and if this is requested, this is done online via a digital procedure before you enter the country.
Do not listen to the opinion of others. Get your own facts. Most airlines now offer these facts when you book with them. Read the emails they send you.
Refusing to wear a mask makes it more difficult to travel than being unvaccinated.
Be okay with the fact that you may be selected for “random testing”, if you are unvaccinated, and that this may only be possible via nasal swab.
Respect everyone you come into contact with during your travels.
If the only way to travel to your chosen destination requires your being vaccinated and you are determined not to do so, then rather stay home. No-one should compromise their core beliefs for the luxury of non-essential travel.
